Kaizer Chiefs beat Mamelodi Sundowns to extend their lead at the top of the Absa Premiership table, while Stellenbosch humbled Orlando Pirates in Cape Town.

Friday, 25 October

SuperSport United vs Black Leopards

Black Leopards fought back to secure a 2-2 draw with SuperSport United at the Lucas Moripe Stadium when Chris Katjiukua and Petjie Zulu cancelled out Aubrey Modiba and Thamsanqa Gabuza’s goals to earn a point away from home.

The draw had Matsatsantsa drop down to seventh place in the league standings, while Lidoda Duvha also climbed up to 11th spot.

Cape Town City vs Maritzburg United

A goal from Thabiso Kutumela gave Maritzburg United all three points after securing a narrow 1-0 victory over Cape Town City at the Cape Town Stadium.

Their hard-fought victory moved the Team of Choice up to eighth spot in the league standings, while the Citizens slipped down to 13th place.

Saturday, 26 October

Stellenbosch FC vs Orlando Pirates

Stellenbosch secured their second consecutive win in the top flight after humbling Orlando Pirates 1-0 at the Cape Town Stadium through a goal from Iqraam Rayners.

The result moved Stellies up to ninth place on the table, while the Buccaneers dropped down to 10th.

Golden Arrows vs Polokwane City

A stoppage-time goal from Ntsako Makhubela helped Golden Arrows claim all three points after defeating Polokwane City 2-1 at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.

The win took Abafana Bes’thende to the sixth spot in the league standings, while Rise and Shine dropped to fifth on the table.

Highlands Park vs Chippa United

Highlands Park secured four victories in the league following their 2-0 win over Chippa United at the Makhulong Stadium through goals from Spiwe Msimango and Tendai Ndoro.

The Lions of the North now occupy fourth place in the league standings after eight games, while the Chili Boys remain rooted at the foot of the table.

Baroka vs AmaZulu

AmaZulu FC recorded their second win in the league after beating Baroka 1-0 win over Baroka FC at the Peter Mokaba Stadium through a 51st-minute penalty from Bonginkosi Ntuli.

Despite the victory, Usuthu remained 15th in the league standings, while Bakgaga slipped down to 14th place.

Mamelodi Sundowns vs Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs extended their lead at the top of the league table to five points after claiming a 2-0 victory over rivals Mamelodi Sundowns at a packed Loftus Versfeld Stadium courtesy of a brace from Samir Nurkovic.

The victory kept Amakhosi at the summit of the league standings with 22 points, while the Brazilians remained in second place, trailing the log leaders by five points.
