SuperSport United and Maritzburg United both have three key absentees in this weekend’s round of PSL action.

Matsatsantsa will miss defenders Michael Boxall and Onismor Bhasera for the trip to the New Peter Mokaba Stadium to play Baroka, while Dean Furman will also sit out the clash, reports the PSL website.

The Pretoria side are flying high, having stretched their unbeaten league run to seven by thrashing Orlando Pirates 6-1 in the last round of games, with New Zealander Boxall bagging a brace.

Another club that may feel the red-card pinch this week is 11th-placed Maritzburg United. The Team of Choice have three men missing to face Ajax on Saturday, one of them coach Ernst Middendorp after he was sent to the stands in their last game. Key defenders Bevan Fransman and Brian Onyango are also out of the basement-battle encounter.

The dismissals of Kagisho Dikgacoi and Nkanyiso Mngwengwe left fourth-placed Golden Arrows with nine men in their previous match. Both important players won’t play against Highlands Park on Sunday. The Lions of the North will be without Franklin Cale’s services for the clash.

Cape Town City will be without influential attacker Bongolethu Jayiya when they travel to Port Elizabeth to take on Chippa United on Saturday.

Players out of this round of PSL action:

Dean Furman, Michael Boxall, Onismor Bhasera (all SuperSport United), coach Ernst Middendorp, Bevan Fransman, Brian Onyango (all Maritzburg United), Kagisho Dikgacoi, Nkanyiso Mngwengwe (both Golden Arrows), Franklin Cale (Highlands Park) and Bongolethu Jayiya (Cape Town City).
