Portuguese striker Joao Moreira announced that he has parted ways with Absa Premiership outfit Golden Arrows.

The 33-year-old has been at the club since last year after he was signed by former coach Clinton Larsen, but has since struggled for game time at Abafana Bes’thende. He has only made one start in all competitions for Arrows during the 2018-19 season.

Moreira was previously on the books of Hibernians FC in Malta and has also played for Rayo Vallecano and Valencia in Spain, as well as Auckland City in New Zealand. He played with Mamelodi Sundowns striker Emiliano Tade at Auckland City.

‘I come to announce that my journey through the African lands ends today! It was a great pleasure and a great experience, professional plan was not what I wanted, but I would also like to thank the Golden Arrows FC staff for the opportunity and the teammates!! Thank you! I’m already a free player! Hugs to everyone!!!,’ Moreira wrote on his Facebook account.
