Pitso Mosimane anticipates a tough match when his Mamelodi Sundowns side clashes with Dan Malesela’s Chippa United in an Absa Premiership match tonight.

The defending PSL champions have been on a good run but were recently held to 1-1 draw against Chippa at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium. The Brazilians are fresh off a convincing 2-0 victory over title challengers Bidvest Wits and will be hoping to grab all three points against The Chilli Boys.

Sundowns have been in good form but their squad depth will be tested by suspension and injuries to key players. Khama Billiat, Anthony Laffor, Denis Onyango and Anele Ngcongca will all miss the Chippa match through injury while Tiyani Mabunda picked up a one match suspension.

The 2016 CAF coach of the year complimented his opposite number’s coaching philosophy and expects a hard game against the team from Port Elizabeth.

‘Chippa play football. Dance is always a tough opponent. They always play well,’ Mosimane said, according to Kick Off.

The Chilli Boys played to a 2-2 stalemate with Golden Arrows on Friday evening and the former SuperSport United coach noted the difficulties that the tricky Arrows side gave them.

‘But you could see Arrows had a different game plan. Arrows always play Abafana Bes’thende’s style, dribbling pass and pass,’ he added.

Mosimane emphasised the importance of picking up points and believes that Sundowns can cause Chippa real problems if they implement a similar game plan to that of Arrows.

‘Now is the second round, you must get points or you out. You saw how Arrows played. It’s a tough game, we will play like that against Chippa.’ Mosimane concluded.

If Sundowns manage to beat Chippa, they will go to the top of the PSL standings.

The match between Sundowns and Chippa will take place at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium this evening.

Kick-off is set for 19:30.
