Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has reportedly been charged with assault after a case was opened against the coach by a security official working at the King Zwelithini Stadium.

According to a report from IOL, the security guard logged the complaint after Sundowns’ game against AmaZulu. A small incident took place between Sundowns fans and a member of the technical team following the final whistle and it seems that Mosimane got caught up in the drama.

‘Security guard Nathi Ngwenya of Ngwelela Protection Services, a defence company with AmaZulu FC, has opened a case,’ said AmaZulu spokesperson Brillant Mkhathini. ‘He indicated that the coach had struck him in the face after the match.’

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Lt-Colonel Thulani Zwane has since confirmed that a case has indeed been opened against Mosimane.

‘A case of assault at Umlaza police station was opened. No one has been arrested while investigations continue,’ Zwane said.
