Orlando Pirates have confirmed the contract renewals of midfielders Gift Motupa, Luvuyo Memela and Mpho Makola until 2019.

The Soweto giants, who recorded an impressive 3-1 victory against Baroka on Saturday night, took to their official website to publicise the details of the extensions.

‘I can confirm that the Club has triggered the extension clauses of both Memela and Makola for another season,’ the club’s administrative Officer Floyd Mbele said.

‘Furthermore, I can reveal that we have triggered our one-year extension clause for Gift Motupa, who is still on loan at Baroka FC,’ he added.

The Soweto giants also provided an injury update, revealing that winger Thabo Qalinge has been cleared to return to full fitness, while Thembinkosi Lorch, Bernard Morrison and defender Ntsikelelo Nyauza continue on their road to recovery.

Pirates’ next assignment sees them face log-leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.
