Orlando Pirates has been boosted, after determining that defender Ntsikelelo Nyauza has not suffered any major damage following his hamstring injury.

The 26-year-old had to be substituted in the first half during their Absa Premiership match against SuperSport United, after suffering a hamstring injury.

However, the Buccaneers can breathe a sigh of relief after his Ultrascan results showed no sign of major damage.

The former Platinum Stars defender will undergo one last assessment to determine whether he is fit for their Nedbank Cup clash against EC Bees in the round of 32, according to the Bucs medical team.

Meanwhile, the medical team has also revealed the reason behind Riyaad Norodien missing out in the clash against Matsatsantsa, the Orlando Pirates website revealed.

Norodien injured his toe during a training session, and was unable to play without feeling any pain and/or discomfort. Like Nyauza, he too will be re-assessed on Friday.

Orlando Pirates will next take on EC Bees in the Nedbank Cup round of 32 on Sunday.

The match at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium kicks off at 15:00.
