After starting to make a real impact at Cape Town City, Ayanda Patosi feels that a return to the Bafana Bafana setup is getting closer.

Patosi made his Bafana debut back in 2012 and has earned 12 appearances with three goals, but has not featured for the national team for sometime after suffering difficulties in Belgium with Lokoren.

The former Lokoren man returned to South Africa last season but despite showing glimpses of his talent, he struggled with weight and fitness issues in his first campaign, which severely hampered his impact.

The forward has, however, came back this season, fitter, sharper and is certainly impressing many with his performances for the Citizens.

Despite missing out on coach Stuart Baxter’s recent squad announcement, Patosi believes a call-up will come if he continues his good performances with City.

‘I’m closer to that Bafana call-up. I’m working hard on it. I want to be back in the Bafana Bafana team. The more I’m playing at Cape Town City, the more I know I have a chance to go back to Bafana.

‘I’m still young at 25 years old. So, if I can get the call up I will be happy because people can see what I’m doing and the hard work that I’m putting on the field of play,’ concluded Patosi.
