Former Golden Arrows midfielder Seth Parusnath has stopped training with SuperSport United, who were assessing him as a possible free-agent signing, with Kaizer Chiefs reportedly stepping up their interest in the player.

The 26-year-old played a vital part of an impressive Arrows side last season as he missed just two of their league matches, which is why many were shocked when he was allowed to leave the club for free.

As he began his search for a new club the midfielder started training with SuperSport and was being assessed by SSU coach Kaitano Tembo, with the hopes of signing him if he performed.

But, after just one week, the player is no longer training with the club, with CEO Stan Matthews indicating that Parusnath will be left to assess his options with his representatives.

“Yes, Brandon [Seth], trained with us last week and now he is discussing his options with his agent so I can’t comment more than that at this time,” Matthews told SoccerLaduma.

According to the website, the reason Parusnath stopped training with Matsatsantsa is that the club is not interested in waging a bidding war for the player as Kaizer Chiefs have officially joined the race.

SuperSport were willing to offer him a deal, but will now wait to see how negotiations with Chiefs play out before making any moves.
