Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Gustavo Paez has joined Venezuelan side Atletico Venezuela after being released by the Amakhosi in April.

The 29-year-old, who joined Chiefs in January 2017 from Sociedad Civil Estudiantes De Marida FC before parting ways with Amakhosi after the club didn’t renew his contract.

Paez scored 10 goals and created one assist from 53 appearances across all competitions for the Glamour Boys between 2017 and 2019.

The Venezuelan striker was released along with Hendrik Ekstein, who joined Azerbaijan Premier League outfit Sabah FC, as well as Khotso Malope, who has signed with Richards Bay in the GladAfrica Championship.

Over the course of his career, Paez bagged 24 goals and assisted a further eight from 127 appearances in all competitions playing in Venezuela, Slovenia, Italy, Spain and South Africa.
