Orlando Pirates midfielder Musa Nyatama is targeting his maiden Absa Premiership title with the Soweto giants this season.

The former Bloemfontein Celtic man helped Pirates to a second-place finish last campaign and received a number of accolades for his performances.

The midfielder walked away with the Player of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season and Fan Player of the Season awards at the club’s end-of-season awards, but he said personal glory is not important to him; it is the league title that he craves most.

‘I’ve never won a league title and that’s the one goal that drives me every season,’ said Nyatama as quoted by the Daily Sun.

‘These personal achievements will never be enough if I don’t have a league medal,’ said the midfielder.

‘We have the team to win the league. Through dedication and commitment, we can achieve all our goals in the new season.’

Pirates were in Zambia last week for a pre-season camp and Nyatama believes that it has put them in good stead for the upcoming season.

‘We had a good trip out there. We learned a lot in a short period and we can’t wait for the season to begin,’ the former Mamelodi Sundowns man concluded.
