Kaizer Chiefs striker Samir Nurkovic is focused on helping his side collect maximum points against Polokwane City in the Absa Premiership on Saturday.
The 27-year-old player joined Amakhosi from Slovakian club FKC Komarno after a successful campaign in front of goal, finding the back of the net 23 times for his previous club.
Nurkovic has made a great start to life at Chiefs. His fine form for the Glamour Boys delivered his first league goal during their 1-1 draw with SuperSport United on 24 August.
‘This is the club with the richest history in this country and of course every year this club deserves to win something,’ Nurkovic told the media.
‘For me personally, I just focus on the next game and just try to help the team collect as many points as we can.’
It is the first time that Nurkovic sets foot on African soil having played in the lower leagues in Slovakia last season.
He says he is enjoying his time in the country as well as the quality of the league and its supporters since his arrival in July.
‘[The PSL] is a quality league with a lot of quality players and so far I am enjoying it. It’s the first time I play in front of these wonderful supporters,’ he added.
‘We have the best supporters in Africa and I am enjoying every moment.’
The match at the FNB Stadium kicks off at 6pm.
