Bafana Bafana defender Anele Ngcongca has been declared fit to take his place in the lineup against Free State Stars this weekend.

The former Genk right back resumed training on Thursday following a lengthy layoff with a knee injury within a week of joining the African champions.

‘It’s very good, it’s the first time we have Anele back, with his boots on,’ coach Pitso Mosimane told KickOff.

Mosimane added that fellow defenders Bangaly Soumahoro and Tebogo Langerman are also fit for duty.

However, it’s not all good news for the defending PSL champions. Record-signing Sibusiso Vilakazi is still doubtful after an ankle knock, while Anthony Laffor (twisted ankle), Mzikayise Mashaba (achilles) and Ricardo Nascimento (groin) are all out of contention.

The team will leave for the Club World Cup on Monday.
