Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Phathutshedzo Nange says his side will go into their next DStv Premiership encounter with Royal AM with a positive mindset hoping to walk away with maximum points.

The Glamour Boys extended their unbeaten run to five games after they claimed a comfortable 2-0 victory over Sekhukhune United at the FNB Stadium over this past weekend.

The result moved Amakhosi back into second place in the league standings with 25 points from 14 matches, 15 points behind Mamelodi Sundowns, with two games in hand over the log leaders.

Nange played a crucial role in helping Chiefs walk away with a positive result after he bagged a 87th-minute goal to add to Nkosingiphile Ngcobo’s 25th-minute opener.

“It felt great to have scored. I was looking forward to this moment and it was really special. As a player, these are the moments you look forward to, which is scoring goals and winning games,” Nange told his club’s official website.

Nange continued by praising his teammate Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, who got his name on the scoresheet as well as being named man of the match against Sekhukhune.

“It was a great performance from a class player. There is nothing else I can say. We all know how classy he is, and he was really good against Sekhukhune.

“I think we did great as a team and we managed to collect three points, which was so important for us. We are proud of what we did for the club, the chairman, the supporters and management. It shows that we have depth in our squad. We are Kaizer Chiefs and we are one team, so everyone will represent the badge during the season. We will continue working and fighting together.”

The Soweto giants will now focus on their next DStv Premiership encounter with Royal AM at the Chatsworth Stadium as they go in search of a positive result.

“We go to Royal AM to fight as a collective and to make sure we continue our winning run by dishing out another great performance. All that matters is that we collect three points,” he added.

“Every game that we play we want to win and will give our best. We have good momentum and are in a good space. Every one of the guys can be in the starting eleven and we will go there with a positive mindset.”
