Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane insists that his side used their experience to claim a 1-0 victory over Platinum Stars on Sunday.

The Brazilians claimed their third win in the Absa Premiership on Sunday after securing a narrow victory over Dikwena at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

Mosimane said that Stars were a tough side to get over and that many teams would struggle to break them down.

The 53-year-old insists Roger De Sa has done exceptionally well during the short time he’s been at the helm of Dikwena after their ‘hard-earned’ win.

‘We were helped by the [early goal], it was typical of the Sundowns move, Kekana finding Khama behind the defence. Hard-earned win hey, we were sweating for this win,’ Mosimane told SuperSport TV after the match.

‘Within a short space of time Roger has done exceptionally well with this team, from the English coach to sort out the mess that was here. He has done really well. Sometimes we undermine our local coaches, he has done exceptionally well.

‘They did put us under pressure a little bit. We used a little bit of experience to control the game, slow it a little bit sometimes, especially in the first half.’

Mamelodi Sundowns will next take on Kaizer Chiefs at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium when the Absa Premiership returns on 17 October.
