Despite a contract dispute with his current club Chippa United star Joseph Molangoane could seal a move to Kaizer Chiefs.

The Chilli Boys believe Molangoane is still contracted to their side, whereas the midfielder is claiming he has no outstanding ties to the club, causing the player to take the matter to the PSL’s Dispute Resolution Chamber [DRC].

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs are expressing interest in the star, though the Glamour Boys may yet bet forced to pay a release fee for the player should it be ruled by the DRC that he remains contracted to Chippa.

‘Chiefs did approach us to find out about the contractual status of the player. He is still contracted to us and anybody who wants him must be prepared to pay,’ Chippa chairman Siviwe Mpengesi told KickOff.

‘We understand the player has taken the matter [contract dispute] to the DRC,’ he added.

According to reports Molangoane, who proved key to Chippa’s surprise sixth place finish in the Premiership last term, has already agreed to join the Glamour Boys.

Chiefs finished just one point and one placing clear of Chippa United last term, while the player made 20 appearances for his side, scoring four goals.
