SuperSport United coach Kaitano Tembo has confirmed that winger Aubrey Modiba will miss their upcoming Absa Premiership encounter with Orlando Pirates.

Matsatsantsa will be hoping to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat by Tshwane rivals Mamelodi Sundowns on the opening day of the Absa Premiership last weekend.

However, United, who currently occupy 15th place in the league standings, will now welcome the Buccaneers to the Mbombela Stadium on Wednesday as they look to secure their first win of the new season.

Tembo confirmed that the Matsatsantsa winger is expected to be sidelined for at least two to three weeks as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.

‘He has started light training because he had a grade-one tear. It will probably take two to three weeks for him to fully recover,’ Tembo told the media.

‘It’s a huge setback for us because he has been one of the most effective players. When he got injured, he was really doing well as well against Sundowns.

‘So, we will definitely miss him, and I just hope he recovers quick.’

SuperSport United against Orlando Pirates kicks off at 7:30pm.
