Bidvest Wits forward Gabadinho Mhango is the star of an inspiring story of a young football fan in his home country Malawi.

Mhango has been creating headlines for all the right reasons both on and off the pitch this season with his latest off-field exploits going viral.

A young fan in the village of Ntcheu was photographed in a shirt with ‘Gabadinho’ written on the back in black permanent marker and when the image made it’s way back to the Wits star he put plans in place to make contact.

Mhango posted on Twitter that he knew he had to make the trip back home to meet up with his young fun, who goes by ‘Gabadinho’ in his village. The PSL star admitted that he plays the game for fans like him and was delighted to find the Young Gaba. Mhango was inspired by the gesture and wants to make his young fan proud so that one day he will make his own parents and country proud.

Mhango spent some time with his young fan sharing a meal and handing him a new jersey.
