Orlando Pirates captain Thabo Matlaba has made a bold prediction for the PSL encounter against Kaizer Chiefs, saying that forward Thamsanqa Gabuza will net a brace in the Soweto Derby.

Chiefs host Pirates at the FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon in the country’s biggest  fixture in the Absa Premiership, and despite heading into the encounter on the back of a 1-1 draw against Platinum Stars, Matlaba is confident that his side will emerge as victors, touting Gabuza to put two past their arch-rivals.

‘We don’t go out there to draw matches. Whoever wants it the most, will win it,’ he told reporters at a press conference on Thursday.

‘I think we will win 2-0 and I think Gabuza will score a brace,’ he claimed confidently.

Pirates mentor Milutin Sredojevic chose to remain mum about his predictions, but highlighted the magnitude of the encounter, saying that it’s ‘the biggest derby in the Southern hemisphere’.

‘I’ve been to about 130 countries around the world. This is the biggest derby in the Southern hemisphere,’ he concluded.

The two sides face off on Saturday afternoon, with kick-off set for 15:30.
