Kaizer Chiefs defender Eric Mathoho hopes to collect three points and keep a clean sheet when they take on Polokwane City in the Absa Premiership on Saturday.

The Glamour Boys will enter their next Absa Premiership encounter on a high note after a four-game unbeaten run in the league, claiming one draw and three wins in their first four matches.

Amakhosi top the league standings with 10 points with second-placed Bidvest Wits trailing the Soweto giants by a single point.

The veteran defender has called on his teammates to tighten up their defence after keeping one clean sheet so far this season.

‘I think the combinations in defense are becoming better with each passing game,’ Mathoho told the media.

‘I am happy with the guys‚ the way we communicate‚ especially after the two goals we conceded against Highlands Park [in the 3-2 win on the opening day last month].

‘I think we had a chat and we fixed our mistakes‚ but we are looking forward to keeping clean sheets.’

Amakhosi will take on Polokwane City in the next Absa Premiership encounter. Mathoho says his side will have to work hard to snatch three points from Rise and Shine, who managed to collect four points from Chiefs last season.

‘I think we will have to work hard for the three points,’ he added.

‘We can’t say we are done because it is only four games.’

The match at the FNB Stadium kicks off at 6pm.
