Golden Arrows coach Clinton Larsen says his side ‘needs to build’ on their performance, following their 2-2 draw with Chippa United at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium.

The match ended in a stalemate with a brace from Lerato Lamola cancelling out Lerato Manzini’s brace as both sides shared the spoils in their Absa Premiership encounter.

The 46-year-old coach admits that his side were dominated in the first-half, but insists that Arrows came out with more intent in the second half to score two goals and ending the match in a draw.

‘We were very lucky to go into the break only 1-0 down, as we were totally dominated by our opponents in the 1st half, but in saying so they did not create too many clear scoring chances,’ Larsen told the Golden Arrows website.

‘We were poor when regaining possession, giving the ball away too cheaply. We played in the 2nd half like we know we can, with more purpose, intensity and confidence. We need to now build on our 2nd half performance.’

Meanwhile, Larsen went on to praise Velemseni Ndwandwe’s performance after making his debut for the club and his first appearance in the Absa Premiership.

‘Very happy for young Ndwandwe who made his debut.’

Golden Arrows will now take on Maritzburg United in their next Absa Premiership encounter on Saturday.

The match at the Chatsworth Stadium kicks off at 18:00.
