Golden Arrows coach Clinton Larsen believes his side deserved more than they got following their 1-0 defeat against Free State Stars at the Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday.

Abafana Bes’thende are currently placed seventh in the Absa Premiership standings with 23 points, having won six out of 18 matches played so far this season.

The 46-year-old coach believes his side deserved to at least walk away with a point following their performance against Ea Lla Koto.

‘We deserved more than we got from this game, that’s been the story of our season, we create more chances than our opponents, but they score from their first attack,’ Larsen told the Golden Arrows website.

However, Larsen insists that he is delighted with the consistency his side showed in their performance. He says his side will continue to stay positive to fight for the remaining points on offer until the end of the season.

‘We are happy with the fact that there is better consistency in our performances, but not happy about our results.

‘A combination of poor finishing on our part and some great goalkeeping on theirs meant we got what we deserved. With 12 games left we need to fight hard for the remaining points available.’

Golden Arrows will next take on Chippa United in the Absa Premiership on Friday.

The match at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium kicks off at 20:00.
