Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela believes his side should’ve scored more goals following Amakhosi’s come back victory over Polokwane City on Saturday.

The Glamour Boys moved back into fourth place following their 2-1 victory over Rise and Shine after goals from Ryan Moon and Dumisani Zuma cancelled out Walter Musona’s 22nd minute opener.

Komphela says he could not fault Amakhosi for Polokwane’s ‘beautiful goal’ they conceded, but he insists that his side gave away too many fouls in threatening areas.

‘It got a bit difficult in the end for reasons we know, and I thought we could have scored one or two more goals, but they scored a beautiful goal as well from a set-play what a scorcher. When you concede goals like that, you can’t blame anybody it part of football,’ Komphela told SuperSport TV after the game.

‘There were stages where we committed too many fouls around the box and just to be more careful in matches where you know you will dominate but you don’t want to give any hope to the opponent because their threat is clear.

‘If you allow Maluleleke to play, he is very calm on the ball, he can find those small openings and as soon as he gets connected to Ramagalela, Rendani is just waiting for anything and I thought we survived a few scary moments.

‘I thought we could’ve controlled the game a bit better. You’re leading, you don’t need to be expansive, but I thought the goal we scored by Zuma was a beautiful piece of play and they should do more of that,’ he concluded.
