Mamelodi Sundowns moved to seventh on the table after a late 1-0 win over Baroka at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Thursday.

Sundowns needed an 84th minute winner from  captain Hlompho Kekana to secure the three points as Pitso Mosimane’s men moved to within striking distance of the league leaders.

The Brazilians are still playing catch up in the league but have moved up to seventh, six points behind Wits but with a whole handful of games in hand.

Khama Billiat wasted the first half’s best opportunity in the 40th minute when he failed to keep his shot on target as the side’s went into the break level.

Collins Makgaka spurned a good chance for the host sbefore Billiat squandered another good chance as his shot was easily saved by Oscarine Masuluke.

Kekana had a goal incorrectly ruled out by referee Lwandile Mfiki but there was no stopping him saving Sundowns in the dying minutes.
