Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande is confident that the Soweto giants will be at the ‘top of their game’ when the Absa Premiership season resumes.

The current Absa Premiership campaign was halted after the outbreak of the coronavirus in South Africa.

Amakhosi were sitting at the summit of the league standings with 48 points from 22 games, four points above second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns, who have a game in hand over the log leaders.

Katsande admits that it will be difficult for Amakhosi to find their form when the league finally gets back on track.

Katsande, who has won two PSL titles with Chiefs, also thinks the lockdown period could derail the Soweto giants.

‘It’s always difficult to come back to the form of your past after such a break. But we will be on top of our game,’ Katsande told New Zimbabwe.

‘As a professional, you must get back on the horse and ride towards the finish line at high speed.

‘We have to work on our sharpness and play two to three friendly games before we can resume our league schedule. That may help.’
