Platinum Stars coach Cavin Johnson says he aims to walk away with all three point against Chippa United when they meet at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Friday.

Over the course of the 2016-17 campaign, Dikwena has only managed to win once at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace so far this season in the Absa Premiership.

However, the Rustenburg side has won at home this season during their participation in the Caf Confederation Cup.

Johnson tells Platinumstars.com that his charges will be going for a win when they host Chippa United at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace in Rustenburg this coming Friday.

The 58-year-old coach says his side have to put all their energy into winning their second match at home in the Absa Premiership on Friday.

‘The desire to win at home is bigger than anything at the moment. To register a nice win at home is what we are going to put all our energies on,’ Johnson told the Platinum Stars website.

‘The fact that we are playing at home, I am sure that the players will put a better effort against Chippa.’

Johnson says he is confident his side can defeat an unpredictable Chippa United side, coming off the back of a 3-0 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic.

‘If we can get the next win, we will be happy because that keeps the momentum and betters our position on the log. We are going to go for three points. We will play as hard as we can to get the win. Chippa likes to put it on the ground and come at you. We like to do that as well,’ he added.

‘Chippa held the African Champions to a draw on Wednesday. That means they are a good team. We are going to do work on them. We are confident because we come from a good win from Bloemfontein.

We play good football. We are going to try and keep up in the same vein.’

The former SuperSport United coach has revealed that club captain Vuyo Mere is suspended for their upcoming match after accumulating too many yellow cards.

‘We have our captain suspended because he has four yellow cards, so we are going to reshuffle a little bit in midfield,’ Johnson.

Platinum Stars will next take on Chippa United at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in the Absa Premiership on Friday.

Kick-off has been set for 20:00.
