Bloemfontein Celtic defender Cheslyn Jampies says he is hoping to make his debut for the club against Platinum Stars following his performance in the Macufe Cup on Sunday.

Serame Letsoaka’s side recently suffered a 4-1 defeat against Kaizer Chiefs  in the Macufe Cup at the Free State Stadium on Sunday.

The 26-year-old says he is hoping his performance in the Macufe Cup will help him to get a spot in the team for their match against Dikwena.

‘I’m enjoying myself here except for the lack of game-time, but I think my performance on Sunday will help my situation and turn things around,’ Jampies told KickOff.com.

The Siwelele defender says that coach Serame Letsoaka was not worried about him conceding a penalty against Amakhosi as he believes the referee gave the wrong call.

‘Our coach Serame Letsoaka was watching from the stands on Sunday but immediately after the final whistle he came down to give me some words of encouragement,’ he added

‘He told me as a defender I can only do so much. He even said the penalty was not a penalty and so I mustn’t get worried. He said it was definitely not a penalty.

‘He said he was only worried about some of our players’ performances as they looked like they never slept. But let’s see what happens on Saturday, our coach has everything under control.’

Kick-off has been scheduled for 15:30
