Kaizer Chiefs attacker Keagan Dolly admits he is disappointed by his side’s exit from the Nedbank Cup at the hands of TS Galaxy, but believes Tuesday’s clash with Cape Town City is the perfect opportunity to bounce back.

The Glamour Boys suffered a disspointing 1-0 defeat by the Rockets over this past weekend, seeing their hopes of winning silverware all but over for another season.

Speaking to the Chiefs media department in the buildup to the Mother City clash, Dolly admitted his side were disappointed to miss out on the chance to win silverware but now have to shift their focus to the league.

“Obviously, we are very disappointed. Not only because we lost, but the way we played. I don’t think we were ourselves on the day. Our movements off the ball, our pressing shape, I think it was not us. It’s good that we have a game on Tuesday, so that we can rectify our mistakes and get our confidence back,” said Dolly.

“The game on Tuesday is a good chance for everyone to come back and just try do our best to win on the day. Every season we want to compete for trophies, we want to win for ourselves and for our supporters. It was disappointing to go out like that, especially so early in the competition. We shift our focus to the league and we should do our best to reach the highest we can in the league. Let’s start on Tuesday.

“I came to Chiefs because I wanted to win trophies. I think we have the players to do so, we have the quality. To go out so early is really disappointing. I was really upset, I was sad. But we move on. We just need to start being consistent on the field. Once we start being consistent, we will compete for a lot more.”

Amakhosi are trophy-less since winning the league in 2015 and the drought will now extend to at least 2023.
