Peter Shalulile scored a stunning volley to help guide Mamelodi Sundowns to a 1-0 win over Maritzburg United on Thursday evening.

The Brazilians continued their unbeaten start to the league campaign and are now three points clear with a game in hand, thanks to the Namibia forward’s amazing second-half strike.

In a tight first half, chances were hard to come by as a much-changed Sundowns, following their MNTN8 triumph this past Saturday, struggled for fluency.

Downs, however, upped the tempo in the second half and got the winner just after the hour mark as a pinpoint long ball from Neo Maema found the run of Shalulile, who produced a stunning volley to leave Maritzburg shotstopper Marcel Engelhardt with no chance.
