Goals from Sibusio Vilakazi and Themba Zwane were enough to guide the defending champions to a 2-0 victory over United in their Tshwane derby opener on Saturday afternoon.

Later in the day Pirates hosted Celtic at the Orlando Stadium. The Soweto giants got off to the perfect start when Augustine Mulenga opened the scoring with just five minutes gone.

Celtic though hit back just before half-time with Mzwanele Mahashe grabbing the equaliser. Pirates though came out fighting in the second half and goals from Innocent Maela and Gabadinho Mhango found the back of the net to hand the Sea Robbers all three points.
