Kaizer Chiefs defender Lorenzo Gordinho has urged his side to keep the momentum going after collecting all three points against Highlands Park on Sunday.

Amakhosi recently claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Highlands Park at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, with Gordinho scoring the deciding goal of the match as his side walked away with all three points.

the Kaizer Chiefs website caught up with the team’s goal scorer on the day, Lorenzo Gordinho to get his views on the impressive form the team is showing of late. The goal was the defender’s fourth of the season and credits his colleagues for his improving performances on the field.

The 22-year-old has now called on his side to keep their winning momentum going as they go in search of their 10th Absa Premiership victory this season.

‘It’s good for us as a team and for our momentum to keep it going,’ Gordinho told the Kaizer Chiefs website.

‘The confidence of the team is very important at this stage and we need to keep it going especially heading into the Ajax Cape Town game… You want to get there high on confidence and also maintain our place at the top of the log.’

Gordinho admits that the team’s spirit is currently on a high as the Glamour Boys are currently placed first on the Absa Premiership standings with 33 points.

‘The team spirit is very high at the moment. We, as players, are enjoying ourselves and it’s showing with the results and that’s what is important,’ He added.

‘This is a real team with some very good and experienced players and I think we’re in a good space to continue moving forward.’

Kaizer Chiefs will next travel to Athlone Stadium when they take on Ajax Cape Town in the Absa Premiership on Saturday.

Kick-off has been set for 20:15.
