Bidvest Wits and Papy Faty have parted ways with concerns over the midfielder’s heart condition but the player insists he is not retiring from the game.

The 26-year-old Faty has had two near escapes in the last nine months having collapsed in a Premiership match as well as in a friendly fixture. Nevertheless, the player insists the health issues will not force him to retire from the game, reports SoccerLaduma.

The midfielder is now on the lookout for a new club having cut ties with Wits as he seeks to reignite his career. Faty has also represented the Burundian national team since departing the Clever Boys but with question marks still hovering over the player’s constitution, it remains to be seen whether he can earn himself a contract elsewhere.

The defensive midfielder made 14 appearances in the Premiership for Wits last term, scoring three and assisting once. The 26-year-old has also represented Burundian on 14 occasions.
