SuperSport United have confirmed the signing of former Orlando Pirates attacking midfielder Thabo Qalinge.

The 27-year-old was released by the Buccaneers at the end of last season after spending five season with the Soweto giants.

The attacking midfielder joined Matsatsantsa on a one-year contract with the option to extend his deal further two-years.

Qalinge has racked up 109 appearances in all competitions, scored eight goals and assisted a further 11 since making his debut with Mpumalanga Black Aces in 2013 and United CEO Stan Matthews believes that the midfielders experience will help the club achieve their objectives this season.

‘He has matured and gained immense experience since his first spell with us and we hope he makes the most of this opportunity to show South Africa what he has in his locker‚ and how he can help us win trophies and push hard for a top four spot in the PSL‚’ Matthews told the media.

The former Mpumalanga Black Aces star will now reunite with former Pirates teammates at SuperSport in the form of striker Thamsanqa Gabuza and winger Kudakwashe Mahachi.
