Cape Town City coach Eric Tinkler believes his side can end champions Mamelodi Sundowns’ unbeaten run in the DStv Premiership.

The Citizens will take on Richards Bay in their next league fixture when the two sides meet at the DHL Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

City are then scheduled to face off against champions Sundowns in their final league fixture at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday, May 25.

The Cape side head into their next encounter sitting in seventh place in the league standings with 39 points from 28 matches.

Tinkler believes that Sundowns are “beatable” and used Stellenbosch FC and Orlando Pirates as a reference to his statement.

“I think every team in this league is beatable,” Tinkler said.

“We saw that on the weekend. Stellenbosch after their 25-match unbeaten run in which they’ve really looked good and lost to Swallows and then you saw the Pirates game.

“Everyone’s talking about Pirates finishing second and they end up losing to Richards Bay. So I think everybody is beatable on the day.”
