Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro believes Cape Town Spurs are probably in the best moment of the season ahead of their DStv Premiership clash at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The Buccaneers will come into this encounter after ending a four-match winless run in the league following their 1-0 over Polokwane City thanks to a goal from Evidence Makgopa at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

Spurs, meanwhile, secured back-to-back wins in the league after their 2-0 victory over TS Galaxy courtesy of goals from Ashley Cupido and Katlego Maphathe at Athlone Stadium on Sunday.

Pirates currently occupy fifth place on the log with 29 points from 18 games, while Spurs sit at the foot of the table with 10 points after 18 matches.

Riveiro has since stated that he will not be underestimating the Urban Warriors when the two sides square off in Johannesburg on Wednesday.

“Spurs are probably in the best moment of the season, so less room for us to be complacent,” Riveiro said.

“They are coming from a good moment and showing that they are capable of winning games. So, there’s space for destruction this time.”

The match at the Orlando Stadium is scheduled to kick off at 19:30.
