Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro says his players gave it their all against Richards Bay but claims “luck” was not on his team’s side on the day.

The Buccaneers fall to their first defeat in seven matches following their 1-0 loss to the Natal Rich Boys at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday.

The Soweto giants remain in third place on the log with 49 points from 28 games, despite the defeat, while Richards Bay are placed 15th on the table with 27 points from 28 matches.

The Spanish tactician says he cannot fault his players for the defeat, as he felt they gave it their best against Richards Bay.

“Many chances, it was a game of small margins but I have nothing negative to tell my players,” Riveiro told SuperSport TV after the game.

“They gave their all, that’s the obligation, they tried until the end, everybody was playing with his heart and today the luck was not on our side but we move.”
