Mamelodi Sundowns right back Khuliso Mudau has expressed his delight at defeating Kaizer Chiefs after putting in a man of the match performance at the FNB Stadium this weekend.

The Brazilians made history after they claimed a record 12th successive win in the DStv Premiership following their 1-0 win courtesy of a goal from Neo Maema.

The win saw Sundowns open a 17 point lead at the top of the table with 46 points from 17 matches, while Chiefs dropped down to sixth place with 24 points after 17 games.

Mudau admits that it was difficult to play against Amakhosi but he had confidence that they would score and walk away with maximum points in Soweto.

“It was difficult game to be honest but I think we knew they gonna come second half, they made a few changes going forward but at least I’m happy we managed to keep a clean sheet and we won the game,” Mudau told SuperSport TV.

“No, obviously we knew they gonna come as I said but I’m very happy about the clean sheet and we managed to get one goal and we closed the door.

“And I’m very happy for the win, it was good game but I’m very happy to be honest.

“Honestly, it means a lot it shows that we’re working very hard even at training. I’m very happy to have coaches like coach Rulani (Mokwena), coach Maqoba (Mngqithi), coach Steve (Komphela), they are really helping us to make sure that we win these games.”
