Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rhulani Mokwena says his side have already turned their focus to their next game following their victory over SuperSport United in the Tshwane derby on Monday evening.

The Brazilians extended their winning run in the DStv Premiership to 11 matches following their narrow win over SuperSport at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.

As a result, Sundowns have now opened a 14 point league over Richards Bay in second place and a 16 point gap over SuperSport, who remain in third pace on the table.

Sundowns have now set their sights on claiming a 12th consecutive victory in the league when they take on Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.

“A typical match against a team that has an asset, they knew that they had to push us and push us,” Mokwena told his club’s official website.

“They didn’t come here to sit back, and when you play against a coach that has also won four league titles, he hasn’t won those four titles by chance or given out to him, you would expect [to see] some form of organization, some form of tactical surprises like we saw with the inverted wingers.

“Apart from this game, it’s SuperSport who beat us in the first round. You’ve got Sekhukhune that drew with us 1-1.

“There’s TS Galaxy who beat us 1-0 and in between those two matches you’ve got two big rivals in that space, and so what right do we have of thinking that this thing is done? The mentality is on to the next one, and that is what we focus on.”
