Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Neo Maema admits their impressive set-piece routine came straight from the training ground after he assisted Lucas Ribeiro Costa against SuperSport United.

Sundowns secured a record ninth consecutive win following their 2-0 victory thanks to Peter Shalulile and Lucas Ribeiro Costa.

The win sees Sundowns back up to the top of the league standings with 27 points from nine games, while SuperSport dropped to third place on the log with 23 points after 13 matches.

Maema says their work on the training grown has bared fruit on the field following their impressive goal during their win over United.

“It’s thing we do at training and coach said if we have the confidence to actually execute it when it comes, why not [do it], so today it works for us, so in the next games we’ll try the other ones we have,” Maema told SuperSport TV after the game.
