Kaizer Chiefs club captain Itumeleng Khune says his side are fully focused ahead of their DStv Premiership opener against Chippa United on Sunday.

The Glamour Boys are set to face the Chilli Boys in the opening league match when the two sides meet at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

Molefi Ntseki will be hoping his new additions can hit the ground running, including new signings Pule Mmodi, Tebogo Potsane, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Spiwe Msimango, Ranga Chivaviro and Edson Castillo.

Khune says his side are eager to kick start their league campaign as they look to begin on a positive note by securing all three points.

“Yes, we all want positive results in every match we play,” Khune told his club’s official website.

“But as everyone is aware, we have a new coach. He was trying different combinations and different philosophies, so I think we ticked all the boxes on the plan that we have during our preparation matches, and we are excited. We are looking forward to the start of the season.”

“We’ll play Chippa on Sunday; it’s our home game away from home but, as you know, we always enjoy being here. We are loved and we also appreciate the love we get so it’s very important that we start the league with three points.”
