Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed a fixture change for their upcoming DStv Premiership clash against Soweto rivals Swallows FC at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

The fixture which was scheduled to take place on Tuesday, May 2 has since been brought forward and is now scheduled to take place on Monday, May 1, with kick off set for 3 pm.

When Amakhosi and the Dube Birds last squared off in the DStv Premiership, Chiefs clinched a 2-1 victory when Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana and Keagan Dolly cancelled out Waseem Isaacs’ goal at the Volkswagen Dobsonville Stadium on Wednesday, October 5, 2022.

The Glamour boys are currently on a five game unbeaten run in the league as they prepare for the next two league fixtures against Sekhukhune United and Chippa United before taking on the Dube Birds on the new scheduled date.

Kaizer Chiefs released the following statement on the matter which reads:

“Due to unavoidable circumstances, the date for the fixture between Kaizer Chiefs and Swallows FC in Polokwane – initially scheduled for Tuesday, 2 May at 19:30 – has been brought forward to Monday, 1 May at 15:00. The decision has been taken after considering the availability of the Peter Mokaba Stadium and other logistical issues related to the broadcaster, SuperSport.”

“All the tickets that have already been sold will remain valid for the new date. In other words, if you have already purchased a ticket for the match, you don’t have to worry about anything. Your ticket will be honoured, and you can look forward to attending the game on Workers’ Day, which is a public holiday.

“However, if you have purchased a ticket and are unable to attend the game on the new date, you can easily obtain a refund through Computicket. The process is simple and hassle-free, and you will be assisted in every way possible.

“We apologise to football enthusiasts for any inconvenience caused by the change of date. We hope you understand the challenges and intricacies of scheduling top-calibre games. Regardless of the changes, we can assure you that this Soweto derby will be just as exciting and action-packed as you expect it to be at the end of a long weekend!

“Tickets for the DStv Premiership match between the Glamour Boys and Dube Birds are on sale at Computicket, including Shoprite and Checkers at R60 per ticket. The new date and kick-off time are Monday, 1 May at 15:00 at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.”
