Kaizer Chiefs fell to their third straight defeat in the DStv Premiership in a 2-1 loss to Golden Arrows at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Arthur Zwane made two changes to his side that suffered a defeat by Stellenbosch this past weekend as Reeve Frosler and Nkosingiphile Nhlakanipho Ngcobo came in to replace Happy Mashiane and Sabelo Radebe.

Amakhosi got off to a bright start and took the lead in the 18th minute when Khama Billiat found the back of the net after he was played through on goal by Leonardo Castro.

Arrows pressed forward in search of an equalising goal after the half-hour mark but were finding it hard to break down the Chiefs defence.

The home side opted to bring on fresh legs with 11 minutes left to play in the half, as Sbonelo Cele was taken off to be replaced by Siboniso Conco as the game went into the break 1-0 in favour of Chiefs.

Amakhosi made a double substitution early in the second half as Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo were replaced by Kearyn Baccus and Dumisani Zuma.

Abafana Besthende eventually managed to level matters on the hour mark as Conco intercepted a poor pass from Njabulo Ngcobo to slot the ball home from close range.

Chiefs made another two substitutions with 18 minutes to play as Samir Nurkovic and Daniel Cardoso were brought on to replace Castro and Ngcobo.

However, Arrows managed to score the winning goal with four minutes left to play when Michael Gumede headed home Nduduzo Sibiya’s free kick to hand Amakhosi their third consecutive defeat in the DStv Premiership.
