Kaizer Chiefs and Ajax Cape Town shared the spoils following their 1-1 draw, while SuperSport United edged out Highlands Park 1-0 in the Absa Premiership on Saturday.

The Urban Warriors got off to a bright start with the home side looking dangerous in attack through the likes of Bantu Mzwakali and Mark Mayambela.

Ajax had the first chance of the match in the 10th minute when Thabo Mosadi produced a half-volleyed effort at goal but his effort was comfortably saved by Amakhosi goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune.

Amakhosi came close to breaking the deadlock in the 12th minute when George Maluleka played Siphiwe Tshabalala through on goal but his effort could only find the inside of the post.

Ajax had a chance in the second half to take the lead when Mosadi unleashed a shot at goal but his effort was blazed high of the target.

However, Ajax took the lead in the 59th minute when Nathan Paulse rose highest to head home from a cross from Mosadi to make it 1-0.

Steve Komphela’s side eventually found the equalising goal in the 79th minute when Daniel Cardoso headed home a free-kick to make it 1-1.

Neither side could find the winning goal as Ajax and Chiefs walked away with a point each at Athlone Stadium.

Meanwhile, SuperSport United claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Highlands Park at the Makhulong Stadium through a goal by Dean Furman.
