Cape Town City have announced that they will play in a pink kit against Baroka at Cape Town Stadium on October 15 in support of cancer awareness month.

As part of Cancer Awareness month Eric Tinkler’s side will donate some of their ticket sales from their match against Baroka to the Cancer Association of South Africa, while women will be granted free entry into Cape Town Stadium.

The club released a statement which read: ‘Cape Town City FC is proud to announce a special involvement with the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA), by dedicating the club’s home Absa Premiership match against Baroka FC on Saturday, 15 October, to help raise awareness of this worthy cause during Cancer Awareness month.

‘The Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) plays a leading role in cancer research and cancer control policy development, as well as providing care, support and education to South Africans affected by the dreaded disease.

‘CANSA’s purpose is to lead the fight against cancer in South Africa with a mission of becoming the preferred non-profit organisation that enables research, educates the public and provides support to all people affected by cancer.

‘As part of Cape Town City FC’s contribution, the club’s PSL team will play in a limited edition pink kit against Baroka FC. In addition, 50% of all corporate suite sales for this match will go to CANSA. ALL women will be permitted free entry for the match at Cape Town Stadium, which kicks-off at 20:15.

‘The club encourages all corporate companies to purchase their suites, which includes catering, at the price of R12 500 (excl. VAT). Email info@capetowncityfc.co.za to book your suite.

‘Get to Cape Town Stadium on 15 October and play your part in the fight again Cancer!’
