Kaizer Chiefs defender Njabulo Blom says Amakhosi will give their best in each and every game following their victory over Orlando Pirates in the Soweto derby this past Saturday.

The Glamour Boys walked away with the bragging rights after claiming maximum points against the Buccaneers at the FNB Stadium after Keagan Dolly’s brace cancelled out Linda Mntambo’s equaliser.

Amakhosi have since moved up to fifth place in the league standings with 15 points, while Pirates have dropped down to seventh place with 14 points from 10 matches.

Blom, who was named man of the match, felt his side showed a real fighting spirit to beat their arch-rivals and secure maximum points in the first instalment of the Soweto derby in the DStv Premiership.

“It’s always a great feeling winning games, but the Soweto derby is a special game. I am so happy,” Blom told his club’s official website.

“It was a tough game. I’d like to thank God for the strength and wisdom he gave us, the push that he gave me and as a team for the fighting spirit.

“I’d like to thank God for giving us the three points. Kaizer Chiefs supporters, we promised you we will give you our best in each and every game and we displayed that fighting spirit on the field today.”

Blom will be hoping for another impressive performance when they travel to Cape Town Stadium for their next DStv Premiership encounter with Cape Town City on Saturday, 20 November, with kick- off scheduled for 5:30pm.
