Cape Town City coach Benni McCarthy has heaped praise on Thato Mokeke and believes the versatile midfielder is the full package.

The 30-year-old recently received a call-up, alongside teammate Kermit Erasmus, to the Bafana Bafana squad by coach Molefi Ntseki for their upcoming clash with Mali in the Nelson Mandela Challenge on Sunday.

The Cape Town-born midfielder has been one of the Citizens’ standout performers so far this season and featured in all of their first eight games across all competitions.

Mokeke will be afforded the opportunity to showcase his talents when City welcome Kaizer Chiefs in the Telkom Knockout Cup last 16 following the draw in Randburg on Wednesday.

‘He knows how to pass‚ how to control‚ how to be professional. He is a 4×4‚ he does everything well. You can adjust him and he is able to manage anything,’ Benni told his club’s official Twitter page.

Mokeke will be hoping to represent South Africa against Mali at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm.
