Cape Town City coach Benni McCarthy says his side are relishing the chance to redeem themselves against an unpredictable Baroka side on Saturday, writes DYLAN APPOLIS.

The Citizens will go into this encounter high in confidence after claiming a 1-0 victory over SuperSport United in their previous Absa Premiership encounter.

City currently occupy seventh place on the league standings with 23 points after 15 games played so far this season.

The last time the two sides met, Bakgaga ran out 2-1 winners, and McCarthy is determined to right the wrong on Saturday.

‘Baroka are a tough opposition, and an opposition that always seem to cause a great ordeal, but I think on Saturday we will put that record straight,’ Benni said.

‘It was unfortunate that in the previous games we played them, they took their chances and we didn’t, and they managed to get a positive result. But now they’re facing a completely different Cape Town City side with a different mentality.

‘Baroka are opposition we’ve struggled a lot with in the past, but if we start the game how we usually finish them, I think it’ll be a nice game for our players to look forward to. Baroka is an offensive team, and we can get a lot of joy from doing the right things from the first minute.’

Cape Town City will welcome Baroka to Cape Town Stadium when the two sides square off in the Absa Premiership on Saturday, with kick-off set for 8:15pm.
