Baroka assistant coach Thoka Matsimela has been found guilty by the Premier Soccer League disciplinary committee.

Matsimela was charged by the PSL for contravening the NSL Compliance Manual after failing to attend the post-match media conference following their 1-0 victory over Bidvest Wits at the Bidvest Stadium on 6 August.

The Bakgaga assistant coach has been standing in for head coach Wedson Nyirenda, who has been awaiting his work permit.

The PSL released the following statement:

‘The Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee has found Baroka FC and coach Thoka Matsimela guilty of contravening the NSL Compliance Manual (Media Manual). Matsimela failed to attend a mandatory post-match media mixed zone when Baroka FC played Bidvest Wits on 6 August 2019 at Bidvest Stadium.

‘Baroka was fined R100,000, suspended for 24 months and Matsimela was also fined R100,000, also suspended for 24 months on conditions they are both not found guilty of breaching any of the coaches’ obligations in the Media Manual.’
