Manchester United have announced the release of 10 players ahead of the 2025-26 season.
Ruben Amorim has opted to revamp his squad and released players deemed surplus to requirements, including Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans, and Victor Lindelof, after the club did not renew their contracts.
However, Man Utd wasted no time in bolstering their squad by acquiring the services of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers, while Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo is close to joining the club.
Here is the full list of players out of contract and being released by the club, including Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans, Hubert Graczyk, Tom Heaton, Jack Kingdon, Victor Lindelof, Sam Murray, Tom Myles, James Nolan and Tom Wooster.
“Manchester United’s retained list has been sent to the Premier League, including confirmation of several players leaving the club.”
“Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof are among those departing, as their contracts come to an end.
“Denmark midfielder Eriksen scored on his 108th and final appearance for the club, with a penalty in our 2-0 final-day win over Aston Villa at Old Trafford last month.
“Lindelof and Evans also featured in that game, bringing up their 284th and 241st appearances, respectively.
“For Sweden captain Lindelof, it brought down the curtain on an eight-year United career that has seen him win Emirates FA Cup and League Cup winners’ medals, alongside Eriksen. Evans, meanwhile, leaves with an array of honours earned over his two spells at United, since making his debut as an Academy graduate in 2007.
“He went on to win three Premier League titles, one Champions League, one Club World Cup and one League Cup during his first spell at the club, before returning in 2023 and winning his first FA Cup medal with the club in the 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the 2024 final.
“Tom Heaton is also included on the list of free transfers, however the club remains in discussions with the goalkeeper about a new deal that would see him remain part of the squad for the 2025/26 season.
“Like Evans, Heaton is an Academy graduate in his second spell at the club, after returning in 2021 and going on to make three first-team appearances, as well as being a highly valued part of the goalkeeping group and wider squad.
“Academy players Hubert Graczyk, Jack Kingdon, Sam Murray, Tom Myles, James Nolan and Tom Wooster complete the list of players being released this summer.
“The Academy is proud of all of our departing young players throughout the age groups. They will be supported in securing contracts at new clubs, provided with a bespoke aftercare programme, and will always have a lifelong association with Manchester United.”
