Free State Stars stand-in captain Danny Venter says his side are delighted to have drawn Highlands Park in the Last 32 of the Nedbank Cup.

Ea Lla Koto next take on the Lions of the North in one of only two fixtures that will feature Absa Premiership teams going head-to-head.

The 29-year-old says he is delighted with his side’s next opponents in the Nedbank Cup, while also stating that Ea Lla Koto will know what to expect from the Lions of the North.

‘I think it’s a fairly good draw for us,’ Venter told the Free State Stars website.

‘It’s good that we have been pitted against a PSL team, we know what to expect and they will certainly be no surprises as we know them and see them week in week out on TV playing.

‘I also think the home ground advantage will work in our favours and I think we should do well in this tournament.’

Free State Stars will next take on Kaizer Chiefs in the Absa Premiership on Tuesday.

The match at the FNB Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
